NCATS' Role in the NIH HEAL Initiative^SM

NIH seeks applications for clinical trials to establish the effectiveness of existing therapies and approaches for pain prevention and management using NCATS’ Clinical and Translational Science Awards Program Trial Innovation Network.

As part of the NIH HEAL Initiative^SM, NCATS seeks applications from investigators to create and test human tissue chip devices that can model pain, addiction, or opioid use disorders.

NCATS seeks collaborations with the broader research community to work with its experts to create and use 3-D bioprinted tissue models as novel drug screening platforms for non-addictive treatments for pain, opioid use disorder and/or overdose.

NCATS has issued challenge prize competitions for an innovative translational science platform to revolutionize the discovery of novel compounds for the treatment of pain, opioid use disorder and overdose.
