SafeLight Citation Payments
Pay Online, Phone, By Mail, In Person or Appeal your Citation
Should you receive a red-light citation, choose one of the four options below to submit payment for your citation.
Online Payment
To submit payment for your citation online, you must enter your citation number. Visa and MasterCard are the only payment methods accepted.
By Phone
919-832-7436 | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday except City holidays
Select option 2.
You will need to provide your citation number with the Pay-By-Phone option.
By Mail
- Make payable to SafeLight Raleigh.
- Please include your name, address, plate number and citation number to ensure proper credit.
- Include your name and address on the envelope.
- DO NOT MAIL CASH.

In Person
You may pay in person between the hours of 8:30 a.m and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for City-observed holidays, at:

Cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discovery cards are accepted.
Appealing a SafeLight Citation
If you feel you were unjustly cited for a SafeLight violation or if you believe the citation/ticket was issued in error, a two-level appeal process is provided under City Ordinance 11-2135.
Photos and videos of the infraction are available online. You must have your citation number and pin to access the photos/videos.
