The Administration for Community Living was created around the fundamental principle that older adults and people with disabilities of all ages should be able to live where they choose, with the people they choose, and with the ability to participate fully in their communities.

By funding services and supports provided by networks of community-based organizations, and with investments in research and innovation, ACL helps make this principle a reality for millions of Americans.

ACL awards grants to states and organizations, which in turn provide services and supports to older adults and people with disabilities, conduct research, and develop innovative approaches to doing both.

Our goal is to attract top-notch proposals from a wide range of applicants by providing clear, easy-to-find information about the application process and managing ACL grants.

Our networks are strongest when we work together, learn from each other, and build our collective ability to complement – and improve – the country’s rapidly changing health care and services systems.

ACL is committed to sharing best practices as well as research and development findings across the aging and disability networks; providing technical assistance; and informing the networks informed about policy developments.
