College can help you turn your passions and interests into a career.

Understanding your career goals and options (and their earning potential) will help you find a college or career school that meets your needs.

Exploring Your Career Options

What's the difference between a job and career? A career is based on your interests and is your chosen path.

Use the Career Search below to find potential careers using the keyword search, or browse by industry. If you’re not sure what you want to do, use the interest profiler to answer a series of questions that will match your interests with potential careers. For each career, you’ll get this information:

  • what people in the career do on the job
  • the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the career
  • level of education usually needed
  • average annual salary
  • expected demand for the career in the future

Once you’ve used the Career Search to find out how much and what type of education is required for a particular career, you might want to use our college search tool, College Navigator, to find schools that may meet your needs. You can search for colleges based on their type, location, and degrees and programs/majors offered.
