Travels With Hagel Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is on a five-day trip to meet with the men and women of the Defense Department. The trip includes visits to Minot Air Force Base, N.D., Fort Irwin, Calif., Fort Campbell, Ky., and Camp Lejeune, N.C. While in California, Hagel also is scheduled to attend the Reagan Defense Forum in Simi Valley.

U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck HagelChuck Hagel took the oath of office to serve as the 24th defense secretary at the Pentagon, Feb. 27, 2013, becoming the first enlisted combat veteran to lead the Defense Department. Hagel served in the U.S. Senate, representing Nebraska from 1996 to 2009.
