19 Critical Sexual Education Topics

Many U.S. schools are not providing adequate sexual health education to students. Across states, the median percentage of schools that teach all 19 sexual health education topics CDC identifies as essential is low and varies by state.

For School Health Profiles, the lead health education teacher in each surveyed school was asked whether each of 19 specific sexual health education topics were taught in a required course. Those topics are listed in the image, click to enlarge it.
