DR 4399 FL Hurricane Michael - Faith Leaders’ Summit
The White House Faith and Opportunity Initiative and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, invited faith leaders from communities impacted by Hurricane Michael to participate Faith Leaders’ Summits held on in Panama City and Marianna Florida. The theme of the summit was “The Critical Role of Faith-based Organizations in Community Response and Recovery after Disasters.” FEMA provided key information to better inform faith leaders to assist their congregations in recovery from the disaster, as well as information on the eligibility of houses of worship for FEMA Public Assistance to cover damage from Hurricane Michael. -

Hurricane Michael slammed in the Florida panhandle in October 2018. FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance Teams were on the ground immediately following the storm to register survivors and answer questions. -

DR 4399 FL Hurricane Michael - Other Federal Partners
The Stafford Act gives FEMA the responsibility for coordinating government-wide relief efforts. The Federal Response Plan includes contributions from 28 federal agencies and non-governmental organizations. These agencies played critical roles in the response and recovery operations following Hurricane Michael which slammed into the Florida panhandle in October 2016. -

DR 4399 FL Hurricane Michael - Army Corps of Engineers - Blue Roof
Operation Blue Roof is provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and managed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contractors. The program provides fiber-reinforced sheeting and installation to cover damaged roofs until arrangements can be made for permanent repairs. -

FEMA's Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA) manages the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and implements a variety of programs authorized by Congress to reduce losses that may result from natural disasters. Effective mitigation efforts can break the cycle of disaster damage, reconstruction, and repeated damage. -

In October 2018 Hurricane Michael slammed into the Florida panhandle resulting in significant destruction. Counties working with the Florida Division of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency coordinated volunteer organizations to assist with the massive clean-up. -
