The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs’ Special Events Division ensures public safety at special events occurring in the Nation’s Capital in cooperation with numerous federal and local government agencies. The Division licenses and regulates special events through a facilitated application review and approval process to ensure code compliance. Special events (i.e., street festivals, health fairs, circuses, live performances, public lectures) may take place on private or public property.
