About the SC MIRECC Education Core
Overview
The SC MIRECC Education Core helps VA and community mental health providers promote mental illness recovery among rural Veterans and other Veterans facing barriers to care. We provide training and develop educational products on a variety of mental health topics for care providers, advocates, and Veterans and their families. Our clinical education products are free to the public and VHA clinical providers can earn 1 free of CEU per month by joining our CBOC Mental Health Rounds webinars.

Clinical Educator Grant Program
The Clinical Educator Grants Program helps VA clinicians and educators in VISNs 16 and 17 develop innovative tools that target rural, underserved, or hard-to-reach Veterans and their families or improve the health care delivery system. Applications must support the SC MIRECC mission to promote equity in engagement, access, and quality of mental health care for Veterans facing barriers to care,especially rural Veterans. CBOC Mental Health Grand Rounds Webinars
The CBOC Mental Health Grand Rounds are held monthly on second Wednesdays from 8:00-9:00 a.m. CT and second Thursdays from 11:00-12:00 p.m. CT via Adobe Connect. The target audience includes mental health providers who work in community-based outpatient clinics, although medical center providers are welcome to participate. The rounds are accredited through the VA Employee Education System. VHA clinical providers can earn 1 free hour of CEU per each monthly session. Program for Advancing Cognitive disorders Education for Rural Staff (PACERS)
Program for Advancing Cognitive disorders Education for Rural Staff (PACERS) was developed to assist providers who are caring for patients with cognitive disorders in rural communities and also improve outcomes for Veterans and their caregivers. PACERS staff are developing several web-based modules that will be available in the VA Talent Management System for continuing education credit. PACERS staff are also developing materials and videos for Veterans and their caregivers. Visit the PACERS webpage to access program materials.
