EPA Recognizes Minneapolis VA As Leader in National Federal Green Challenge - The Minneapolis VA received the EPA’s top award for environmentally preferable purchasing practices. VA’s Compensation & Pension Clinic has moved to the Whipple Federal Building - The VA’s Compensation & Pension Clinic has moved to the first floor of the Whipple Federal Building, located at 1 Federal Drive, on the Fort Snelling Upper Post. It’s previous space at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center will be renovated for an expanded Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program. (10/19/2015)

VA Begins “Summer of Service” to Bolster Volunteer Assistance for Veterans - As part of the new nationwide initiative - "Summer of Service" - the Minneapolis VA Health Care System is renewing its commitment to Veterans by inviting the community to visit and explore opportunities to serve during an open house the week of June 28. Joint VA/DoD Collaborative Telemedicine Intensive Care Unit - In a groundbreaking collaboration between the Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs, the Telemedicine Intensive Care Unit located at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center will be used to continuously monitor and assist in the care of critically-ill active duty service members at five US Air Force Bases around the country. Minneapolis VA “Pain Rehab Program” Receives Accreditation - The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International announced that the Minneapolis VA Health Care System’s (VAHCS) Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program (CPRP) has been accredited for the maximum accreditation period of three years. Minneapolis VA Research to Focus on Nondrug Approaches to Pain - The Minneapolis VA Health Care System will participate in two major research projects focusing on nondrug approaches to pain. (09/29/2014)

Minneapolis VA to Notify Veterans of Inadvertent Release of Information - An informational letter regarding the opening of the Minneapolis VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Shakopee, MN, was mailed to 500 Veterans with the name and address of a different veteran inadvertently duplexed onto the back side of the letter. The Minneapolis VA is investigating how the duplication error occurred. Veterans whose names appeared on the backside of the letters are being contacted. Veterans with questions should contact the Minneapolis VA Health Care System facility Privacy Officer, Kenneth Parsley at 612-467-2365. (07/16/2014)

Minneapolis VA 5K - Back by popular demand, the Minneapolis VA Health Care System will hold its annual 5K Run/Walk/Roll on Saturday, Sept. 10, for veterans, VA staff, family members and the general public. VA Awards Contract for New Mankato Clinic - The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has awarded a contract to Sterling Medical Associates, Inc., of Cincinnati, Ohio, for a Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Mankato, Minnesota, with a satellite clinic in St. James, Minnesota. (12/08/2010)

NW Metro Outpatient Clinic Moving Ahead - Ground breaking event will be held Monday, Nov. 8, at 10:00am. The VA announced Oct. 19, 2010 that plans are moving ahead for a community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC) to be built in Ramsey, MN, a suburb northwest of Minneapolis. (10/19/2010)

Night of the VA Medical Center Flood - Officially, it was called a “water break” but for the VA staff who responded to 8-inches of water (estimated at more than 14,000 gallons), filling the hallways, it was a “flood.” (09/23/2010)
