DHS YES is an opportunity for Georgia’s youth to experience leadership development and be the catalyst for change in their communities. Each regional cohort is comprised of 35 high school students who will grow alongside each other throughout the school year. Participants are selected through an application and interview process described below.
One completed application form and two reference forms are required when applying to participate for DHS YES. All application materials, including reference forms, must be submitted and/or postmarked by the deadlines. You will be notified via email when all application materials have been submitted.

DHS YES members are expected to work hard alongside their peers for the common good of their community. Each meetup will be different, engaging, productive and fun! If selected to participate, you are agreeing to fulfill the following expectations:
- Make an effort to attend all DHS YES meetups and events planned in advance in order to successfully complete the program
- Stay in communication with other DHS YES participants and leaders in order to keep up to date on DHS YES happenings
- Contribute in your fullest capacity during the duration of the series
- Actively participate with a great attitude
- Uplift and support your fellow DHS YES peers
