The Office of General Counsel provides legal guidance and direction to the Georgia Department of Human Services. Support of the Department includes guidance on Department initiatives concerning child welfare and safety, family development and independence, aging services and enterprise functions. Critical tasks include, but are not limited to, multi-level statutory, regulatory and policy review and implementation, as well as providing input on the Department’s business practices in accordance with legal and policy requirements. Our team is comprised of attorneys and professionals who are problem-solvers committed to helping resolve issues in a practical, timely and efficient manner.
