Outreach & Retention Team
The Outreach and Retention team takes the lead on diversity and affirmative employment
policy, special emphasis programs, internships, and training and education, and
the majority of the Department's annual reports to the White House Initiatives Offices,
the Office of Personnel Management, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
The team also works to reduce (and prevent) discrimination complaints in the Department,
by providing onsite reviews to assess the effectiveness of facility-level EEO programs,
and providing training on complaints prevention, diversity awareness, equal employment
opportunity, and affirmative employment. This team also takes the lead on high-level
initiatives, like developing an Hispanic recruitment strategy, and providing guidance
on hiring, promoting and retaining individuals with targeted disabilities as required
by the President’s Executive Order.
