To help raise awareness of building safety, DCRA proudly celebrates Building Safety Month during May. Building Safety Month is a public safety awareness campaign to help individuals, families and businesses understand what it takes to create safe, resilient, affordable and energy-efficient homes and buildings. The 2018 year’s theme is Building Codes Save Lives. During May, DCRA will host several free events that will assist communities in understanding what it takes to create safe and sustainable structures and emphasize the importance of implementing modern model building codes, a strong and efficient system of code enforcement and a well-trained, professional workforce to maintain the system.
