President Donald J. Trump signed a $1.3 trillion spending bill that includes $700 billion for defense spending, which defense leaders say is the largest military budget in history, reversing years of decline and unpredictable funding.
Defense Secretary Jim Mattis traveled to Denmark, Lithuania and the United Kingdom to meet with U.S. partners and reaffirm key military alliances.
