Market Facilitation Program Enrollment Deadline Set for Jan. 15, 2019; Secretary Announces Second Payment

Nebraska Farm Service Agency offices across the state are working with producers on implementation of the Market Facilitation Program, the details of which were announced by Secretary Perdue on Aug. 27, 2018. Program sign-up is open and an application must be made by Jan. 15, 2019, even though total 2018 production numbers which are necessary to complete the application can be provided to FSA through May 1, 2019. The main impacted crops in Nebraska include corn, soybeans, sorghum and wheat. Pork and dairy producers also are eligible for assistance, within program parameters.

The announcement detailing the release of the second round of payments can be found by clicking here. It is important to note that producers who have already completed their MFP application, including certification of their 2018 total production, do not have to take any additional action to receive the second payment. However, there is no way to determine when payments will arrive in producers' accounts.
