Delaware's Congressional delegation is pleased with House Republicans' decision to pass legislation extending the payroll tax cut.

Senators Carper and Coons and Congressman Carney were unanimous in their praise for the two-month extension Thursday, Carper saying the GOP did the right thing, Coons calling the decision a "victory" for the middle class, and Carney saying the short-term extension isn't ideal, but will give lawmakers time to decide how to pay for a year-long extension.

Carney also hopes Congress will use the two months to negotiate an extension of unemployment benefits and Medicare payments to doctors.
