Tours and Tickets

All tickets are provided to constituents on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the large number of visitors, it is recommended to request your tours at least 3-4 months in advance in order to process your request in a timely fashion. We ask you to please be patient, as there are many tour requests, especially during the Summer seasons. Due to coronavirus, the following sites have updated their hours:

  • Arlington Cemetery: Public access closed to the public until further notice.
  • Pentagon Building: Public access and tours closed to the public until further notice.  
  • Smithsonian Institution:  Public access closed to the public until further notice.  
  • White House:  Public tours temporarily suspended until further notice.  
  • U.S. Capitol Building: Public tours temporarily suspended through May 1st, 2020.  
  • Library of Congress:  Public access closed to the public until further notice.  
  • National Archives:  Public access and tours closed to the public until further notice.  
  • Bureau of Engraving and Printing:  Public access and tours closed to the public until further notice.  
  • Holocaust Museum: Public access temporarily suspended through March 29, 2020.  
  • U.S. Supreme Court: Public access and tours closed to the public until further notice.  
  • FBI: Public access and tours closed to the public until further notice.  
  • Treasury Building: Public access closed to the public until further notice.

To request a tour for The U.S. Capitol, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, or the White House please complete and submit the Tour Request Form.

In the event of a tour cancellation, a notification email will be sent to the group contact email on file as quickly as possible. We will be unable to reschedule any cancelled tours. 

Please choose three dates everyone in your party is available to tour the White House. The tours are self-guided and reserved by the White House Visitor Center on a first-come first-served basis.

White House tour request should be submitted at least 4 months in advance and no more than 6 months in advance of the requested tour date. You will then be prompted to submit detailed information such as: name, birth date, and place of birth.  Social Security Numbers through a secured link sent by the White House.  Please be prepared to provide this information for all members of your tour party. The White House will then typically confirm/deny tours about 2 weeks before your scheduled visit.

Please note that a tour request acceptance or denial is solely at the discretion of the White House Visitors Center and our office cannot make any guarantee of tours to the White House. Our office can neither control the day nor time of your White House tour. The White House does not conduct tours on Sundays or Mondays and may cancel scheduled tours at any time due to official business.
