About Regional MRC Liaisons

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Regional Liaisons serve in the 10 HHS regions across the United States and its territories. MRC Regional Liaisons communicate and collaborate with MRC unit leaders, MRC State Coordinators, MRC Program office staff, and stakeholder organizations involved in public health, emergency preparedness, and disaster response. Regional Liaisons principally assist the MRC network by providing technical assistance (TA) in support of ongoing unit development. Although their daily tasks may vary from region to region, their overall responsibilities include:

• Allow situational awareness during local emergencies
• Provide TA to MRC unit leaders
• New MRC unit leaders – new units
• New MRC unit leaders – existing units
• “Seasoned” MRC unit leaders
• Conduct TA assessments to provide TA and gain awareness of MRC network needs and trends
• Serves as regional liaison among local MRC units, MRC state coordinators, Regional Emergency Coordinators, Regional Health Administrators and local/state/regional stakeholders
• Connect the MRC network with a variety of public health initiatives and priorities of HHS
• Promote increased awareness and understanding of the MRC
• Outreach to potential new units and supporters
