Visiting DC

NOTICE: In accordance with federal and local guidelines, most tours have limited hours or have been temporarily suspended due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to protect the health and welfare of the citizens of Illinois.

Should you return to the area soon, feel free to submit another tour request here so we can assist you in visiting our nation’s capital. Senator Duckworth’s office will update those with already scheduled tours in the coming months on their status as more information is available.

To help you plan your trip, we have included links to some of the most popular attractions and information about requesting specific tours. All the tours described below are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

You can request tours of the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Printing and Engraving, and The White House through my office via our Tour Request Form. For your convenience, my office provides information on various additional sites and attractions in the Washington, D.C. area. While my office is happy to provide information on these locations, you must book tours or visits directly through their websites. Where applicable, we have provided hours of operation and links for you to book tours directly.

Availability for tours is limited, especially during peak travel seasons. Tours can fill up quickly and are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. I encourage you to submit your Tour Request Form three months prior to your visit. For requests within 30 days of your visit to Washington, D.C., please contact the Tour Coordinator at (202) 224-2854 to inquire about last-minute availability.
