With more than 500 million visitors in 2020, it’s no secret how much you love your Public Lands. Beginning in 2021, approximately $1.6 billion will be invested into 160+ projects through the Great American Outdoors Act. The improvements will benefit a majority of states and numerous Bureau of Indian Education schools. Additionally, the National Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will leverage more than $125 million for 46 conservation projects through the Land and Water Conservation Fund to expand public access, improve hunting and fishing opportunities, and conserve important natural resources. The majestic South Fork of the Snake River pictured here flows across southeastern Idaho through high mountain valleys, rugged canyons and broad floodplains. Located near some of the world’s best known recreation areas, the South Fork is home to 100+ bird species, moose, deer and other wildlife. And it’s a great place to see brilliant fall colors in but truly magnificent any time of year! Photo by Jessica Gottlieb, Bureau of Land Management.
