What and how are we learning? How do we know we are learning it?
With the adoption of Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), the Agency of Education took a critical step forward in implementing education standards to reflect the knowledge and skills needed for Vermont students to experience success in our pK-12 system and to be college and career ready. The development of Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) in combination with existing assessments, such as New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) and Vermont Alternate Assessment Portfolio (VTAAP), the student assessment system in Vermont is aligned to those standards.
