Overview

Established by the Inspector General Act of 1988, the Office of the Inspector General conducts independent audits, inspections, and investigations of GPO programs and offers an independent and objective means of keeping the Director of the GPO and Congress fully informed about problems and deficiencies relating to the agency’s administration and operations. Three divisions are responsible for fulfilling the OIG mission: Audits Division, Inspections/Program Analyses Division, and Investigations Division. For more information on our structure, see our Organization Chart.
