Eligible Professionals (EPs), Eligible Hospitals (EHs) and Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) should use the information below to determine the availability of public health reporting systems accepting electronic data submissions from providers for Meaningful Use public health reporting under the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs.

Stage 2 Meaningful Use - Public Health Objectives
EPs, EHs and CAHs must register their intent to send a submission from certified EHR technology for the appropriate surveillance systems. Registration for a public health reporting measure only needs to be completed once in Stage 2.

Stage 3 Meaningful Use – Public Health Objectives
- Immunization Reporting: I-CARE will accept Stage 3 MU standards on/after January 1, 2017 (Bi-directional exchange QBP/RSP and capacity to receive NDC Codes using HL7 2.5.1 r1.5 plus Addendum)
All electronic reporting must use specified exchange and vocabulary standards.
The Public Health Node supports the technical receipt, aggregation and transformation of data sent to IDPH for the purpose of collecting Meaningful Use data from hospitals and Eligible Professionals. Medical Research Analytics and Informatics Alliance is a non-profit entity that maintains the Illinois Public Health Node and serves as an agent of the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).
