Our staff are based in your community – we are the local face of public health in Addison County. We strive to improve the health of our entire community through our public health programs. We help pregnant women, new mothers and young children eat well and learn about nutrition and breastfeeding. We support programs and develop policies that help all people form healthy habits that prevent chronic diseases including physical activity, tobacco cessation, and recovery from substance use. We partner with health care providers, schools, and child care centers to prevent the spread of communicable diseases, prepare for public health emergencies, and increase our community’s immunization rates. We invite you to learn about the many ways we can help you, your family and your community be healthy. Feel free to stop in Monday-Friday 7:45-4:30 p.m.

The Middlebury Local Health Office promotes the health and wellness of women, children and families throughout their lives.
We work with many partners so that our communities will be a place where people of all ages and abilities can move safely and get healthy food.
We work with local employers to start worksite wellness programs. Programs that make it easier to live a healthy life are good for Vermont workers and good for Vermont businesses too.
We work to improve the health and well-being of school-aged children across Addison County. We support supervisory unions, school districts, community organizations, students and their families by helping with high-impact stratagies that make a difference in health.
We work closely with families and medical practices to increase the number of people in Addison County who receive all their recommended immunizations.
We work with partners in Addison County to prevent disease. We provide education and other resources. When disease occurs, we work to identify it and stop it from spreading. We welcome your questions about infectious disease.
Your Regional Substance Abuse Prevention Consultant works with our communities to reduce substance misuse through education, planning and referral.
We connect tobacco prevention and quit partners with schools and community organizations throughout the county.
