Reporting Blood Lead Test Results to the State of California

California law requires laboratories and health care providers performing blood lead analysis on blood specimens drawn in California to electronically report ALL results to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Branch, along with specified patient demographic, ordering physician, and analysis data on each test performed. Please refer to Section 124130 of the California Health and Safety Code for more information on Californiaā€™s blood lead reporting requirements.

If you are a laboratory or a health care provider performing blood lead analysis on Californians, please contact EBLRSupport@cdph.ca.gov for information on how to electronically report these blood lead results to CDPH.
