• Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH)external icon
  At the request of CDC, ASPH engaged experts to develop a model of core competencies for the public health preparedness and response workforce.
• CDC Clinician Outreach and Communication Activity (COCA)
  COCA provides clinicians with the most current and reliable information available on emerging health threats such as pandemics, natural disasters, and terrorism.
• CDC Crisis & Emergency Risk Communication (CERC)
  CERC program educates and trains public information officers, public health responders, leaders, and others about the principles and application of CERC when responding to a public health emergency.
• CDC Learning Connection
  The CDC Learning Connection features quality public health learning opportunities from CDC, other federal agencies, and federally funded partners. Through monthly website features, social media, and an e-newsletter, the CDC Learning Connection keeps you informed about public health trainings, including many that offer free continuing education (CE).

• Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Centers (PERLC)
  PERLC develop, deliver, and evaluate core competency-based training and education that addresses the public health preparedness and response needs of state, local, and tribal public health workforce
• Public Health Emergency Response: Needs Assessment of Leadership Training and Exercises in Incident Management
  The Institute for Public Research at CNA and Johns Hopkins University (JHU) are conducting a web-based assessment through a project in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This assessment collects information at an organizational perspective from state, territorial, and local health department personnel in the United States.

• Meta-Leadership Summits for Preparedness
  Learning and networking opportunities designed to prepare business, government and nonprofit leaders to act together in times of crisis.
• Preparedness and Emergency Response Research Centers (PERRCs)
  PERRC examine components in the public health system in preparing for and responding to threats and findings from these projects are used to help improve public health practice for preparedness and emergency response planning and policies.

  A “Whole Community” approach to emergency management involves increasing individual preparedness and engaging members of the community as collaborative resources to enhance the resiliency and security of our Nation.
