Attention Veterans

Veterans, if you have flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath, call us at 614-257-5200, option 3 before you visit your local medical center or community clinic. In addition to calling first, consider using virtual care
options such as
telehealth or My HealtheVet Secure Messaging. Out of an abundance of caution for the health of our nation’s heroes, only Veterans with medical appointments or who have official business at the Columbus VA can be granted access at this time. Caregivers who need to accompany a Veteran to their medical appointment will be granted access however, other visitors including children cannot be granted access. Read VA’s latest information on the new coronavirus at https://www.publichealth.va.gov/n-coronavirus/.

Dear Veterans,

Our top priority is enhancing your well-being and keeping you safe.  To keep you safe, we are suspending all face-to-face routine care at our CBOCs and off site Behavioral Health location. We are also encouraging all routine care be done virtually at the main site, to the extent possible.  We will be contacting you to offer a virtual appointment, which can be done via video or phone.  If you have symptoms of Coronavirus, please call us at 614-257-5200, option 3.  Option 3 will connect you with a nurse.  We have added more nurses to answer your calls more quickly.

Many people are wanting to proactively be tested. Governor DeWine has asked that we reserve the tests for those who are hospitalized or health care workers, so they may return to work more swiftly.

Social distancing is hard and can lead to isolation. As always we are still available to you between appointments if you need us. You can contact your mental health provider as usual during this time by telephone or secure messenger. Our Behavioral Health Clinic at the main site (420 North James Rd) remains open to walk-ins M-F 8AM to 3pm .  If you are experiencing thoughts of wanting to harm yourself, you can call our Crisis Line 24/7 at 1-800-273-8255. We’re still here for you, call if you need us.
