HRSA Special Initiatives
HRSA special initiatives support efforts to build community capacity to serve the public health needs of vulnerable populations.
Highlighted initiatives include:
- Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) - HRSA provides grants and technical assistance to improve the health of communities in the Appalachian Region.

Border Health - HRSA provides grants and technical assistance to improve the health of communities in the domestic United States-Mexico Border Region. The area of land is within 100 kilometers (62.5 miles) north of the international border and almost 2000 miles across four border states in the United States (Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas).
