Huizenga Statement on President Trump & Great Lakes Funding

Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02), co-chair of the Great Lakes Task Force, released the following statement after President Trump announced his support for fully funding the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
"The Great Lakes are vital to our economy and to our way of life here in Michigan. The Great Lakes Restoration Initiative has been instrumental in protecting the Great Lakes, preserving their ecology, and cleaning up pollution from the past. Having President Trump announce his support for fully funding the GLRI is great news. I am glad I could play a leading role with Congressman Bergman and Congressman Moolenaar in talking to the President, explaining the importance of the GLRI, and getting him on board. This is great news for Michigan and the long-standing bipartisan effort to create new opportunities and protect the Great Lakes for future generations." |
