There are over 838,000 veterans living in the Empire State who have put their lives on the line to protect our freedom. After bravely and dutifully serving our nation, we owe it to our veterans to adhere to the commitments we have made to them. That's why I formed my Veterans Advisory Council to help me better advocate for Long Island veterans in Congress.
We are forever indebted to the brave men and women who have courageously served our great country, and I am fully committed to fighting on their behalf in Congress. I will continue to work to ensure the Department of Veterans’ Affairs is adequately funded and managed, and to improve access to job training, mental health treatment, and healthcare services.

Vietnam veterans who served in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps., and their families, will be honored Wednesday at noon on the 50th commemoration of the war, according to Massapequa U.S. Rep. Andrew Garbarino.

Many veterans halls, like the American Legion, were forced to close or cut back services during the pandemic. U.S. Rep. Andrew Garbarino (R-NY) has introduced legislation that would help them get back on their feet.
Recently, Congressman Andrew Garbarino (R-NY-02) launched a Veterans Advisory Council comprised of local veterans and veterans’ groups. The Council is a standing advisory body that will provide guidance and recommendations to Garbarino on issues of importance to our nation’s heroes so that he can make informed policy decisions on behalf of Long Island veterans.
