Legislative or Communications Internship (Washington, D.C.)

The Washington D.C. office of Congressman Ken Buck (CO-04) is currently accepting internship applications for the Spring of 2022.

Typical duties include answering phones, leading Capitol tours, researching legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attending hearings and briefings, and answering constituent letters on a variety of issues. Due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19, some of these duties may be significantly altered. The ideal candidate for this paid internship will be team- and detail-oriented and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Students and recent graduates interested in learning more about our country’s legislative process are encouraged to apply. The Congressman sits on the Judiciary Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee, making this an ideal opportunity for those interested in law and/or foreign policy. Colorado ties are preferred but by no means required.

Legal Internship (Washington, D.C.)

The office of House Judiciary Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial, and Administrative Law Ranking Member Ken Buck (CO-04) seeks a paid Legal Intern for the Spring 2022 term. The fellowship will begin in early January and end in April, but individual circumstances affecting these dates may be considered.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting research on antitrust proposals and existing antitrust frameworks, including assessments of the economic and legal implications thereof;
  • Developing memos for the Ranking Member;
  • Researching and preparing hearing materials, including questions, witness backgrounds, and topics;
  • Meeting with stakeholders in the antitrust, technology, and related fields; and
  • Other duties as required.

Qualified applicants will have excellent legal research and writing skills and have an interest in antitrust law. Candidates are strongly preferred to have a legal journal membership.

District Office Internship (Greeley or Castle Rock, CO)

The Castle Rock and Greeley offices of Congressman Ken Buck (CO-04) are currently accepting internship applications for the Spring 2022 term.

Typical duties will include answering phones, assisting with outreach for the Congressional App Challenge and the Congressional Art Competition, attending meetings with community stakeholders, various administrative duties, and other tasks as needed. The ideal candidate for this internship will be team-oriented and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Students and recent graduates interested in learning more about our country’s legislative process and constituent service are encouraged to apply. Internship dates are flexible based on individual needs but will ideally begin in January and end in April.
