I am pleased to offer the following internship opportunities within my office. Internships provide a tremendous opportunity to learn about the legislative process and become more familiar with how our government operates as we simultaneously combat the COVID-19 pandemic. All intern duties are crucial to the day-to-day functioning of each congressional office.

Internship Positions Available

Tucson Office: For those seeking a district internship experience; interns in my Tucson congressional office will work closely with my casework and outreach staff where they will assist with constituent services, handling district-based projects and helping with the day-to-day operation of the office. Working in my Tucson office allows for interns with the opportunity to work directly face to face with the constituents of Arizona’s Third Congressional District.

Washington, D.C. Office: For those seeking legislative experience; interns in my D.C. congressional office will work closely with legislative and press staff conducting legislative outreach and research on a variety of issues. In addition to their work with the staff, interns will be asked to perform various administrative tasks that generally include answering the office calls, managing, and distributing mail, responding to constituent correspondence, and may have the opportunity to assist with activities in the U.S. House Natural Resources Committee (Majority). 

For both the Tucson and D.C internship, preference is given to students and individuals from Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District, although all qualified applicants are carefully considered.

Through the enactment of Public Law 115-244, my Washington, D.C. office is offering paid congressional internship position(s). All interns are eligible for the monthly stipend, based on availability of funds.

In order to qualify for a stipend position, applicants must:

  • Be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • Include their most recent FAFSA award letter or FAFSA statement with their completed application.

Those seeking stipend positions must also include their most recent FAFSA award letter or FAFSA statement. Please note, all interns are eligible to apply for stipend positions, based on availability of funds.
