A Seaford resident attempting to renew his expired passport ran into difficulty when he tried to correct the inclusion of his middle name on his passport to match the way it appears on his drivers license. My casework team reached out to the passport office on his behalf and the issue was resolved inside a week.
An Islip resident applied for an increase on his SBA EIDL loan, but his request was declined citing the fact that the IRS could not locate his 2019 tax transcript which had in fact been correctly filed.
A Levittown resident inadvertently put the wrong withholding amount on his tax form and as a result appeared to owe taxes and began receiving delinquency notices from the IRS. My caseworkers reached out and were able to correct the issue. The constituent received his correct tax refund plus interest within two weeks of contacting my office.
A Seaford resident with Crohn's disease suddenly learned that his insurance would no longer cover a medication he has been taking for 20 years. There was no generic alternative and other medications either hadn't work for him or had caused adverse reactions. My casework team got involved and were able to get coverage extended for the medication he needed.
When a Levittown Vietnam Veteran passed away this week, his family was horrified to find his burial at Calverton National Cemetery was denied due to bureaucratic error and some misfiled paperwork. They contacted me and within 24 hours, my office cleared up the discrepancy so his family could give him the hero's burial he deserves.
When a Levittown man retired at 67 years old, he enrolled in Medicare Part B - completing all the necessary steps in the timely manner he was supposed to. However, he soon began to receive bills in error totaling $10,000 for services that Medicare wouldn't pay for.
When a couple from Bay Shore had their bank close in December, they attempted to switch their health insurance payment withdrawals to their new bank. As USPS workers, and therefore federal employees, they were forced to go back and fourth with multiple federal agencies attempting to make the change.

After almost a year of trying to obtain her benefit, my casework team got involved and was able to resolve the issue within a month and her benefit is being paid out.
A constituent reached out to my office after spending three frustrating days on the phone with Medicare with no resolution to their coverage problem. The doctor and the hospital involved were getting nowhere with Medicare, causing a much needed operation to be delayed twice.
