Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) urged D.C. residents to visit her website to receive help with filing their taxes.  The last day to file taxes is April 15, but Norton urges District residents to start early by going to her website for assistance.  On her website, Norton provides her own helpful Internal Revenue Service (IRS) guide to assist residents in navigating the filing process, as well as a list of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites in the District that will help low-income residents with free tax preparation.

For assistance with filing your taxes, go here.

A list of VITA sites to help low-income D.C. residents can be found here.

Residents needing assistance contacting a VITA site for tax preparation, or needing assistance with other federal benefits, are encouraged to contact Norton’s office at 202-408-9041.
