  • His subcommittee promotes economic development in communities suffering economic distress, preside over programs addressing federal management of emergencies and natural disasters – including oversight of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) – and manage some aspects of Homeland Security.
  • In addressing critical infrastructure needs of Georgia, he states that “Federal investments should include funds supporting state efforts to add additional standard and HOV lanes to major highways in the metro Atlanta region as well as other major causeways throughout the state.”
  • Wants to focus on transportation equity – which will ensure that low income Americans will have access to safe and reliable transportation.

The inclusion of this funding in the Appropriations Committee bills is the first step in the budgetary process.

I’m very happy to report that Congress approved, and the president will sign this week, a federal government funding bill for fiscal year 2022.

This bill – known as an “omnibus” appropriations bill – provides funding for all federal agencies, and includes billions of dollars for infrastructure, clean water, education, national security, public health, helping families with the cost of living, support for veterans and more.
