WASHINGTON— This week, Rep. Chris Stewart (R-UT) joined Fox Business’s Mornings with Maria to discuss the new inflation numbers and the agenda of a potentially GOP-controlled House.

Inflation Numbers:

“President Biden is trying to convince the American people that the inflation isn’t as bad as it appears to be, but the American people aren’t stupid. They know that [spending trillions of dollars] is the problem, not the solution.”

“Higher interest rates, inflation, and taxes all hurt working-Americans the most. They all hurt the most vulnerable among us and have the greatest impact on them. If  you’re a rich person living in New York, and getting picked up in your SUV every day, then you don’t care that much about it. But the rest of us do.”

The GOP’s Agenda:

“Here’s an agenda item: [Democrats] quit spending as much money.”

“We’re going to take back the House, I’m confident of that. We [Republicans] have to be responsible, compel spending cuts, and we do have to investigate things like Hunter Biden’s laptop, the southern border, and Afghanistan. All of those things will be under review in the next Congress.”
