Florida's family farmers, growers and ranchers are essential workers providing a safe food supply for our citizens and millions of people around the world. Our policies must ensure open and fair markets to sustain and grow our domestic farm production. Agriculture regulations must also strike a balance between profitable farm production and sound environmental policy.

Last week, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla., introduced the “Defending Domestic Orange Juice Production Act.”
The bill “would direct the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to lower the required level of sugar/solids content (brix standard) in not-from-concentrate pasteurized orange juice from 10.5 percent weight of orange juice soluble solids to 10 percent.”
Two congressmen from Florida–Republican U.S. Rep. Greg Steube and Democrat U.S. Rep. Darren Soto–teamed up this week on a bill to "protect farmers impacted by crop-damaging freezes."
Steube introduced the "Temperature Endorsement for Multi-Peril Policies (TEMP) Act" on Monday with Soto as a co-sponsor. They hope to include the proposal as part of the larger farm bill.
WASHINGTON— U.S. Representatives Greg Steube (R-Fla.) and Darren Soto (D-Fla.) today introduced The Temperature Endorsement for Multi-Peril Policies (TEMP) Act which will protect farmers impacted by crop-damaging freezes. Rep. Steube proposes this legislation for inclusion in the 2023 Farm Bill.
