Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC— Today, the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement:

“Over the next month, we will celebrate and honor the deep history, rich culture, and the countless contributions of our nation’s many Latino communities. The Ways and Means Committee is guided by our core belief that our diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and our Racial Equity Initiative is leading on policies that recognize and promote this. As one of the fastest growing demographics in our country, Latinos’ success spurs the prosperity of our entire country, and we are committed to policies that advance justice, break down barriers, and close inequities for all American communities.

“This month is a time of reflection and celebration—on the countless ways in which Latinos have shaped our country and how they are paving the way for the next generation of the American dream.”
