(Washington, DC) Congressman Doug LaMalfa issued the following statement after the Department of Transportation announced a $750,000 grant to the City of Redding to support new air service between Redding Municipal Airport (RDD) and Denver International Airport (DEN) through the Small Community Air Service Development Program (SCASDP).

“I’m happy to announce a major air service grant to Redding Airport in order to help the region better connect. This $750,000 grant will help connect Redding air services to Denver to provide more travel options to North State residents. As a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, my goal is to improve connectivity throughout the District, from major road infrastructure projects and broadband improvements to improved air service,” LaMalfa said. “I look forward to continuing my work with local officials like Redding Airport Manager Jim Wadleigh on economic development, and how the Federal government can direct more funding to invest in rural areas with economic growth potential, like Redding.”

Congressman Doug LaMalfa is a lifelong farmer representing California’s First Congressional District, including Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
