District Office Intern

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi seeks motivated, flexible, and detail-oriented interns to serve in his Schaumburg, Illinois district office this fall.

 Ideal candidates will possess exceptional written and oral communication skills, a high degree of professionalism, as well as a strong interest in public service. Congressional internships are open to all majors and designed for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates with an interest in public service.

 Congressman Krishnamoorthi’s district office internship provides comprehensive exposure to the workings of a congressional office, constituent services, outreach, and communications.  This internship will help students gain important interpersonal, communications, and drafting skills by working directly with our staff and constituents.

 Interns perform a variety of duties including day-to-day office work such as answering phones, writing letters, and greeting constituents.  Interns will also conduct research, draft memos and other written documents, help resolve constituent problems, help plan community events, attend meetings and events with the Congressman, and much more.

 District ties are a plus, but not required. Starting and ending dates are flexible, although prospective interns should be able to commit at least 10 hours per week. This is an in-person internship.

Legislative Director

The office of Congressman Ruben Gallego (AZ), a member of the House Armed Services, House Natural Resources, and House Veterans’ Affairs Committees, seeks a Legislative Director to oversee the congressman’s legislative agenda.

The Office of Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson seeks an experienced, creative, and tech-savvy press secretary/digital director to join our communications team. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the member’s social media accounts, official website, media lists, newsletters, mailers, advertisements, communications schedule, and other resources 

  • Compiling daily press clips, creating communications briefings, monitoring analytic data   

  • Assisting in the development of materials intended for the media, such as press releases, talking points, newsletters, pitches, media kits, and weekly reports

The press secretary/digital director will work closely with the communications director to implement an ambitious communications strategy. Candidates should have strong writing and creative skills, strong editing and proofreading skills, and work well under pressure. The ideal candidate will have at least one year or one federal campaign cycle of communications experience, including digital strategy, social media management, content creation, editing of graphics, photos, and videos using multimedia software including Adobe Creative Cloud. Experience with Facebook business manager, Google Ads, and digital analytics is a preferred!

Staff Assistant

The Office of Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (CA-53) is looking for a dynamic, full-time Staff Assistant for her San Diego office. Scheduler

Senior Foreign Policy Advisor

Rep. Brad Schneider (IL-10) seeks a hard-working, strategically minded, and proactive Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to join his Washington, D.C. team. This is a senior level position responsible for advising the Congressman on relevant areas of interest, helping craft and implement positions and policies, and communicating the same with relevant stakeholders.

The Congressman serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, including the Middle East, North Africa and Global Terrorism Subcommittee. We are looking for someone with previous policy experience handling foreign affairs, specifically related to the Middle East, and combating antisemitism and hate in all its forms in the U.S. and abroad. Successful applicants will build upon this office’s existing leadership and effectively drive policy on Capitol Hill for these issue areas.

Ideal candidates should have 5 or more years of Capitol Hill or comparable advocacy experience working on the above policy issues, a deep understanding of U.S. policy and regional dynamics in the Middle East, familiarity with legislative processes and procedures, experience in formulating and advancing legislation and other policy initiatives, excellent organization and communication skills, the ability to work quickly and successfully under pressure and work well with others as part of a team. This position reports to the Legislative Director and will have extensive interaction with the Congressman, as well as working closely with the legislative, communications, and district teams.

  • The House Foreign Affairs Committee — specifically the Middle East, North Africa and Global Terrorism Subcommittee

Policy Advisor, Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC)

The Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) seeks a Policy Advisor to manage the Caucus’ policy agenda, including crafting and executing effective legislative strategies to advance Caucus policy priorities, representing the Caucus as point of contact on all policy engagements, working with Members’ staff to advance legislative proposals, developing materials to support the goals and mission of the Caucus, and promoting the Caucus both internally within the House of Representatives and externally to the public. The Policy Advisor’s responsibilities will include:

  • Executing Caucus’ policy agenda through nuanced understanding of community stances

  • Working collaboratively with Executive Director and other Caucus staff to advance CAPAC’s work internally on Capitol Hill and through deep engagement with stakeholder entities to push CAPAC priorities forward

  • Collaborating with CAPAC Member office staff to further Caucus policy objectives and managing communication with CAPAC policy liaisons

Press Secretary

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (MI-13) seeks an experienced and committed Press Secretary for her D.C. Office.
