HARDING, Kenneth R., a Sergeant at Arms from Virginia; born in Medina, Orleans County, N.Y., March 28, 1914; J.D., George Washington University Law School, Washington, D.C., 1937; United States Navy; colonel, United States Air Force Reserve; staff, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Department of the Treasury; staff, Democratic National Congressional Committee, 1946–1954; executive director, Democratic National Congressional Committee, 1954–1972; assistant Sergeant at Arms, United States House of Representatives, 1954–1972; elected Sergeant at Arms of the United States House of Representatives for the Ninety Second Congress and for the four succeeding Congresses, until his resignation on February 29, 1980 (October 1, 1972–February 29, 1980); died on October 3, 2007, in Daytona Beach, Fla.
