IRVING, Paul D., a Sergeant at Arms from Florida, born in Tampa, Hillsborough County, Fla., 1957; B.S., American University, Washington, D.C., 1979; J.D., Whittier Law School, Los Angeles, Calif., 1982; Federal Bureau of Investigation, 1980–1983; United States Secret Service, 1983–2008; business executive and consultant; appointed Sergeant at Arms for the United States House of Representatives for the One Hundred Twelfth Congress; elected Sergeant at Arms for the United States House of Representatives for the One Hundred Thirteenth Congress and for the four succeeding Congresses, served until his resignation on January 7, 2021 (January 17, 2012–January 7, 2021).
