MILLER, William M. (Fishbait), a Doorkeeper from Mississippi; born in Pascagoula, Jackson County, Miss., July 20, 1909; graduated from Pascagoula High School, Pascagoula, Miss.; graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Junior College, Perkinston, Miss., 1932; attended George Washington Law School, Washington, D.C.; J.D., Atlanta Law School, Atlanta, Ga.; staff, Post Office, U.S. House of Representatives; staff, Office of the Doorkeeper, United States House of Representatives; Assistant Sergeant at Arms, U.S. House of Representatives; Minority Doorkeeper, United States House of Representatives, 1947–1949 and 1953–1955; elected Doorkeeper of the United States House of Representatives to the Eighty–first Congress and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 1949–January 3, 1953); elected Doorkeeper of the United States House of Representatives to the Eighty–fourth Congress and to the nine succeeding Congresses until his resignation on December 31, 1974 (January 5, 1955–December 31, 1974); author; died on September 12, 1989, in Greensboro, N.C.
