- Voted for President Obama’s Recovery Act, or stimulus package, which cut taxes for 95% of working families and made critical investments in education, clean energy and infrastructure.
- Cosponsored the Summer Jobs Act, which passed the House and would create 1,000 summer jobs for Fourth District youths and ease lending to small businesses. Hank joined White House officials and former Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Barbara Lee to urge Senate passage of the bill.
- Voted for and offered a successful amendment to legislation to reform regulation of Wall Street. It passed the House of Representatives.
- Congressman Johnson hosted the 2nd Annual Career & Community Resources Fair on March 3, 2017, showcasing great organizations that are sincerely focused on the wellbeing of their employees. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced that he secured the inclusion of more than $15 million for 13 community projects in Georgia’s Fourth District in the FY23 appropriations – Congress’s annual spending plan.
The inclusion of this funding in the Appropriations Committee bills is the first step in the budgetary process.

The Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act will help bring down prices for Georgians in the grocery aisle and at the gas pump by giving American farmers and ranchers the support they need to thrive.
The Leahy-Smith America Invents Act of 2011—or AIA— made the most fundamental changes to the patent laws that our country had not seen since the Patent Act of 1952. One of those fundamental changes was the creation of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board—an adjudicatory body within the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) introduced the Small Business Contracting Fairness Act of 2022, critical legislation to standardize treatment of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) within the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT). The bill would strengthen the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program to help more minority and women-owned small businesses compete for contracts and competitive funding opportunities.
