As we prepare to observe the Labor Day weekend, I want to recognize and celebrate workers, especially those who aren’t always acknowledged for what they do to help all of us in our daily lives in ways large and small.
As I return home from a busy Congressional schedule, I wanted to touch base, and give you an update on what I’ve been working on in Washington, but also what’s on tap in August here in the district.

In recent weeks, our country has been gripped by gun violence. Lives have been lost and families and communities shattered. Gun violence happens so frequently that it often does not even make the news. In fact, gun violence has plagued our country and communities for decades.
I want to wish everyone a happy, safe and healthy Fourth of July holiday weekend!
I feel even more pride with Juneteenth and Independence Day so close together on the calendar now – inextricably linked as national holidays of independence and freedom.
I hope you and your family had a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July holiday weekend. On the day that marked our independence, our nation was scarred again by mass gun violence, which shows we have so much more work to do to address this crisis – here in Georgia and around the nation.
