Fourth District COVID-19 Resources

Vaccine & Testing Information in the Fourth District

The Biden Administration just announced availability of free COVID test kits via the government’s official website, www.COVIDtests.gov

The site provides information about testing and a link to the U.S. Postal Service – special.usps.com/testkits – where people can order up to four rapid tests to be sent to their home address. Or for phone, people can order kits by calling 1-800-232-0233 (TTY 1-888-720-7489). Kits will be mailed through the U.S. Postal Service within 7 to 12 days. On the flip side, the FTC offers this advice about how to avoid buying fake COVID tests online

The tests are completely free. There are no shipping costs, and you don’t have to give a credit card or bank account number. You only need to give a name and address. You also can order for other people who may not have online access. Once you place an order, you’ll get an order confirmation number. If you give your email address, you’ll also get an order confirmation email and delivery updates. Anyone who asks for additional information is a scammer. So, remember:

•    Go to COVIDtests.gov to order your free COVID test kits from the federal government. If you click to order, you’ll be redirected to special.usps.com/testkits. If you follow a link from another website, double-check the URL that shows in your browser’s address bar.
•    No one will call, text, or email you from the federal government to ask for your information to “help” you order free kits. Only a scammer will contact you, asking for information like your credit card, bank account, or Social Security number. Do not respond. Instead, report it to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

Congressioinal Coronavirus Relief Packages

Our nation is facing one of the gravest health and economic emergencies in over 100 years. The coronavirus pandemic has had a deep impact on every aspect of American life — and
bold action is required to address the health emergency, mitigate the economic damage and provide for a strong recovery.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, House Democrats have focused on ensuring our nation’s response puts workers and families first: their health, their wages and their wellbeing.
We have already passed and signed into law four sweeping pieces of legislation:

Together, these laws dramatically expand critical financial lifelines for families, establish new benefits and protections for workers, create new tools for small businesses to meet
payroll and other expenses, and provide relief for students and schools.

This updated Families First Coronavirus Constituent Service Resource Toolkit will help you understand all the benefits that are available to you and your community — and how to
access them.
