The Select Committee is accepting applications for its Fall 2022 Digital Communications Internship on a rolling basis.


The detailed job posting is listed below and offers a base monthly stipend.

Digital Communications Intern

The U.S. House Select Committee on Economic Disparity and Fairness in Growth is seeking a driven Digital Intern to join a fast-paced team for the fall semester.


Timing:

This internship would run from August 29th through December 15th, 2022. Start and end dates are flexible. You will receive time off for holidays and college exams.


Location and Compensation:

The internship is in-person and based out of our Washington, D.C. office. Applicants should be available to work a minimum of 20 hours a week and ideally be available to join us full-time. A need-based financial stipend is available for this internship.


Duties and Expectations: 

Digital Duties include:

  • Drafting social media copy and posts for the Committee
  • The production of high-quality videos and graphics using the Adobe suite
  • Laying out pages of our Committee Report in Adobe Illustrator or InDesign
  • Assistance filming and livestreaming Select Committee events
  • Help maintaining and updating the Select Committee website

Press Duties* Include:

  • Assistance drafting and editing press releases and outreach materials
  • Writing content and updates for our e- newsletter
  • Support pitching media contacts and reporters
  • Monitoring press coverage and incoming media requests
  • Help conducting research and providing staff support for the communications and outreach team

*Note: in the event a separate press internship becomes available, these press duties will be shifted onto them. 

Candidates must:

  • Have strong written and oral communications skills
  • Possess strong technical skills
  • Have advanced creativity and artistic ability
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks on tight deadlines
  • Help generate creative approaches to gaining earned media
  • Be a team-player
