Help with Federal Grants

This page will provide you with a central location to search the wealth of information available from both government and private entities who offer financing to individuals, businesses and state and local governments. The links on this page offer helpful information that will enable you to research information efficiently and will guide you on writing grant proposals.

SAM.gov: The System for Award Management (SAM.gov) is an official website of the U.S. Government. There is no cost to use SAM.gov. You can use this site to:
  • Register to do business with the U.S. Government
  • Update, renew, or check the status of your entity registration
  • Search for entity registration and exclusion records
  • Search for assistance listings (formerly CFDA.gov), wage determinations (formerly WDOL.gov), contract opportunities (formerly FBO.gov), and contract data reports (formerly part of FPDS.gov).
  • View and submit BioPreferred and Service Contract Reports
  • Access publicly available award data via data extracts and system accounts
Grants.gov: provides a centralized location for grant seekers to find and apply for federal funding opportunities. Today, the Grants.gov system houses information on over 1,000 grant programs and vets grant applications for federal grant-making agencies.

The Federal Register: The Federal Register is the official daily publication for Rules, Proposed Rules, and Notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as Executive Orders and other Presidential Documents.

Contact My Office: Many grant programs require applicants to exhibit community support for their project or idea. Over the years, Congressman McGovern has supported hundreds of grant applications from medical research to school gardens to fire safety. Please do not hesitate to contact our office to request a letter of support for your grant application.
