Press Release

Washington, DC – Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-CA) today issued the following statement on President Obama’s FY 2016 Budget released today.

“Responsible budgeting is one of the most basic responsibilities of Congress. In the House, we are passing policies that rein in spending, balance the budget, and empower hardworking taxpayers, not Washington bureaucrats. Unfortunately, the President remains focused on promoting outdated tax, spend, and borrow policies that appeal exclusively to advancing his partisan agenda,” continued LaMalfa. “The $4 trillion plan proposed today, which is filled with even more spending, tax hikes, and unnecessary government bureaucracy, will hinder the type of economic growth our country needs to get back on track.”

“The American people cannot afford another year of partisan politics getting in the way of responsible, common sense solutions. Rather than sending us wish lists, it is time the President join us in getting to work to ensure our children and grandchildren are not saddled with devastating financial burdens due to Washington’s spending problem.”

Congressman Doug LaMalfa is a lifelong farmer representing California’s First Congressional District including, Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
